Fine vacuum distillation
Fine vacuum distillation includes processes in the pressure range down to 10-3 mbar, such as short path, molecular or thin film distillation. Oil-free and chemically resistant vacuum pumps enable clean processes without interruption.
Vacuum for fine vacuum distillation
Oil-free and chemically resistant in the 10-3 mbar range
Aggressive media are often used in distillation processes in the fine vacuum range down to 10-3 mbar. We therefore recommend the chemistry screw pump and the chemistry-HYBRID pump. The VACUU·PURE 10C chemistry screw pump offers the best chemical resistance. In most cases, you do not need a cold trap. In addition, VACUU·PURE runs 100 % oil-free and has no wear parts. Thus, there are no process interruptions due to changing oil, coolant or wear parts.
Important questions on vacuum technology
Aggressive media are often used in distillation processes in the fine vacuum range down to 10-3 mbar. We therefore recommend the chemistry screw pump and the chemistry-HYBRID pump.
The VACUU·PURE 10C chemistry screw pump offers the best chemical resistance. In most cases, you do not need a cold trap. In addition, VACUU-PURE runs 100 % oil-free and has no wear parts. Thus, there are no process interruptions due to oil, coolant or wear part changes.
An alternative is the chemistry-HYBRID pump. The unique combination of an oil-sealed rotary vane pump and a chemistry diaphragm pump provides better protection against corrosion than a simple rotary vane pump. The diaphragm pump permanently evacuates the oil reservoir and thus frees it from corrosive vapors and condensates. The intervals for oil changes are thus significantly extended and in some cases you can even avoid using a cold trap.
We recommend our vacuum pumps with an ultimate vacuum in the range of 10-3 mbar.
The pumping speed is designed based on the sample quantity. The chemistry screw pump is suitable for sample quantities up to approx. 25 liters and the chemistry-HYBRID pump for quantities up to approx. 10 liters.

Our vacuum pumps can also be used with existing vacuum control systems without any problems.
In addition to precise vacuum control, the VACUU·SELECT vacuum controller offers additional advantages for individual vacuum processes. With the application editor, you can easily define and save parameters such as pressure, time or pump-down speed.
An emission condenser (EK) at the outlet enables almost 100 % solvent recovery. A separator (AK) on the inlet side protects the pump by collecting condensate and retaining droplets and particles.
The vacuum pumps we recommend all have a small flange connection. If the connection of your system differs from the pump connection, you can find the right accessories from us.
